What is Someone FM?
Someone FM is a place for intentional, one-to-one voice conversations. In the iPhone app, browse profiles, choose someone you would enjoy talking to, and send a Ring.
Who can join?
Someone FM is for adults aged 18 or older. The iPhone app asks for your birthday during registration. Your full birthday is not displayed on your profile.
Do I need an account, real name, or photo?
The iPhone app uses Sign in with Apple. You can use a nickname and keep a default portrait. Other users can see your profile name, age, interests, and any photo or other profile details you choose to share. Browser matching and private browser calls do not use the same account-based profile flow.
Does sending a Ring start a call?
No. A Ring is an invitation to the person you choose, with an optional short comment. They can accept or decline. Both people must join before audio starts, and microphone permission is requested when joining.
Can I Ring someone who is offline?
Yes. Their invitation can wait in Rings. A profile being visible does not mean its owner is available, and sending a Ring does not guarantee a notification or an answer.
Are there Ring limits?
For people you have not spoken with and are not friends with, you can send up to 5 Rings in a rolling hour and 10 in a rolling 24 hours. Friends and server-confirmed prior conversation partners are exempt from those new-person limits. Short cooldowns and duplicate-invitation protection still apply. Cancelling a Ring does not refund that allowance.
Does talking make us friends?
No. Friendship requires a separate request and acceptance. You can find recent conversation partners on Me, open their profiles, and choose whether to stay in touch.
Is there video?
No. Conversations are voice-only. Choosing a profile photo uses the system photo picker; the iPhone app does not ask for camera access.
What can we do during a call?
You can play games, draw together, send emoji reactions, or share a song preview while you talk. These activities are optional, and leaving an activity does not end the conversation.
Can I leave, report, or block?
Yes. Leave a call whenever you want. In the iPhone app, open the person’s profile and use the three-dot menu to Report or Block. You can manage your blocks in Me → Settings → Blocked people. Email hello@someone.fm if you need help or cannot submit a report.
Is Someone FM a dating app?
Someone FM is built around conversation and friendship, without an expectation of romance. Be respectful of other people’s boundaries.
Is it free? Do invitations earn money?
Someone FM is currently free to use. Invite codes can attribute a new registration and show the inviter a conversation-time summary. No cash rewards or payouts are currently active.
How do I request account deletion?
Open Me → Settings → Delete account and confirm your request. Your profile is hidden and normal access is paused while the request is processed. A pending request does not mean your data has already been erased. The Privacy Policy explains the process.
